Handcrafted in Atlanta, Georgia, these African Cape Buffalo leather scales are a premium piece to add to your collection. African Cape Buffalo are known for their robust build, durability, and resilience, and these are exactly the characteristics our scales evoke. They are not just an item you leave on your shelf locked in a glass box to keep in perfect condition. They are meant to be used and loved, not just by the eyes, but by the pocket as well.
This exotic leather was carefully selected and field tested by multiple testers from the Knafs Moon Crew Facebook Group. The leather has a luxuriously soft but grippy texture that will evolve over time, breaking in like a nice pair of boots. These scales have natural variation in grain and markings, making each set a totally unique pair. Due to the normal variation in the leather, scale thickness and perimeter will be slightly larger than Knafs' stock scale size - our testers find it to be extremely comfortable! Additionally, they are designed to offer improved thumb stud and liner lock access for both righties and lefties, increasing fidgetability. The leather is permanently bonded to a custom-designed 3D printed base plate made of high-quality PETG polymer.
These scales use your stock Knafs Lander 1's hardware (they do not include extras), and they have been test fitted using stock screws. Due to the thickness of the leather, the hardware will be slightly recessed below the top surface of the scale. Because of the stiffness of the material we are working with, sometimes some slight "puckering" may occur around the sharper corners of the scales.
